I’ve seen this tag around the book community and I have no idea where it started. I saw it for the first time on nen & jen’s blog so check that out if you’re interested!
As soon as I saw the prompts, I knew I had to do it because I LOVE Brooklyn Nine-Nine and it was super easy for me to think of answers to each character! Let me know in the comments what you thought and be sure to like the post if you enjoyed it!Jake Peralta: A character who loves to be the hero
Jamie Fraser from Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I think anyone who has read or watched Outlander can agree, that Jamie is The. Hero. *swoons* He has all the hero qualities and is self-sacrificing to a fault. We love Jamie.
Whoever doesn’t like Jamie can’t sit with us.
Amy Santiago: A character that empowers you
Usagi Tsukino from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon
Usagi Tsukino aka Sailor Moon is a character close to my heart because she has her quirks, but she always suits up and steps up against bad guys and always manages to save the day. Not all heroes are perfect; fear and insecurity are normal and I love that no matter what she always faces her fears, kicks butt and is a great friend while she does it!
Captain Holt: An amazing diverse character that breaks stereotypes
Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
I chose Kaz for this because I feel like disability is a type of diversity that is often forgotten. Kaz uses a cane which was inspired by Leigh Bardugo’s own experience which makes it that more credible. Regardless of Kaz’s mobility obstacle, he is super badass and can fight with the best of them! If you are interested, check out my review for Six of Crows!
Rosa Diaz: A bad-ass, female character you’d hate to mess with
Amren from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Amren! So she doesn’t come up until book two of the series, but she is an ancient being who can kill you with her glares and you definitely don’t want to get on her bad side. Check out my review for ACOTAR, ACOMAF, and ACAWAR if you’re interested!
Charles Boyle: An awkward, buy oh-so-loveable Character
“Kore” Persephone from Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe
Kore is adorable! If you’ve talked to me in the last month I’m sorry, but I’m still OBSESSED. Persephone or “Kore” is a curvy, soft, little, pink marshmallow who can’t pick up on social cues and is constantly putting her foot in her mouth. She’s super innocent and pure of heart!
Terry Jeffords: The big guy that looks tough with a soft heart
Matthias Helvar from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
I had to limit myself with how many prompts I was allowed to answer with Six of Crows characters. Matthias Helvar is a big, strong, broad warrior, but he melts when it comes to his love. He seems scary, but he’s got that big, soft heart for certain people. Check out my review if you’re interested to read more!
Gina Linetti: A book or series on your TBR that has a massive fan base
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
I feel so out of the loop when it comes to these books! I bought the fourth book on sale without buying the first ones so I’m definitely going to read them, it’s just a matter of when! (So many books, so little time; am I right?)
Scully & Hitchcock: An iconic fictional duo
Lila Bard and Kell from A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
I’ve only read the first book of this series, but I already love this duo and I’m super pumped to see their friendship to develop! I see a reread in the near future. Also, Lila Bard is amazing and one of my favorite characters ever.
Adrian Pimento: A loose cannon of a character
Minya from Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
I picked Minya for this prompt because she is a character that acts quickly upon gut reactions and those actions are usually violent. She hurts her family while trying to protect them and definitely hurts the people around her with her recklessness.
The Vulture: The antagonist that steals the show
Zero from Wildcard (Warcross #2) by Marie Lu
Zero stole the show for me in book two of the Warcross duology. The twist. THE. TWIST. I’m still not fully recovered. Basically Zero is way more important than I thought and had way more depth as a villain than I anticipated when finishing Warcross. If you want to read more check out my review of Warcross.
The Pontiac Bandit: The antagonist you can’t help but love
AIDEN from Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
AIDEN is this awesome AI in the sci-fi series, The Illuminae Files. I couldn’t help but love AIDEN while reading and I still have hope! This is another series where I have only read the first book, but I’m really hoping that AIDEN will develop more as a character and have more depth, which I find extremely interesting since it is an AI.Thanks for reading! -xo Amber
